Annual update!
The Wallingford Senior Center finally felt like it
fully reached its pre-pandemic normal in 2024,
showing measurable growth in operations, ser-
vices provided, and attendance levels.
Adding 373 new members helped maintain our
overall membership at around 4,000 and our an-
nual attendance grew by 4% to 49,854. Week-
ly program attendance showed an increase of
7.6%, going from 40,009 to 43,051 in 2024.
In addition, our monthly classes, groups, and
workshops attendance rose 12.7% from 4,431
to 4,995. Our special events numbers grew by
23.5% with 6,361 attendees versus 5,110 the
prior year. The popular Lake View Café meal
program served 35,745 breakfasts, lunches and
Thursday evening dinners, a 4.6% increase from
the year before and our Travel program partici-
pation remained steady with 531 people taking
trips, compared to 552 in 2023.
We also saw a significant 19.2% increase in so-
cial service units provided, rising from 3,332 to
3,972 in 2024. The Memory Lane social model
adult day program showed a substantial 12.9%
increase in units of service and our Transporta-
tion Buses provided 9,197 rides, which was 503
more than in 2023.
These statistics will tell you that we are growing,
actively aging, and thriving! If you enjoy healthy
activities, exercise classes, lifelong learning op- 238 Washington St,
portunities, meeting and socializing with others,
a little friendly competition, and good food and Wallingford, CT
fun, this is the place for you to thrive too.
