David Warren MacDonald
David Warren MacDonald, president of the Wallingford and Yalesville Funeral Homes, is a lifetime res-
ident of Wallingford. He began his career in funeral service, working after school and during summers
at the Wallingford family-owned funeral home. While working, David simultaneously excelled as a
student-athlete who played football and captained the lacrosse team, an early indicator of one of the
ways he would later serve the Wallingford community.
David graduated from Mount Ida College with a degree in funeral service and passed the National
Board Exam of Funeral Service. While at Mount Ida, he was named captain of the men's lacrosse team
and was voted into the All-New England and NJCAA All-American teams. In 2004, he was inducted into
the Mount Ida College Hall of Fame.
Following Mount Ida, he began his apprenticeship to become a licensed funeral director and embalmer
while furthering his studies at Quinnipiac University. He graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
In 2000, David was recognized as a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer. He is now the president of the Wallingford and Yales-
ville Funeral Homes. His list of accolades and accomplishments include serving on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut
Funeral Directors Association and serving as President from 2020-2021,
He and his wife Jennifer have two sons. He is a Third Degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the Wallingford Order of Elks, a
board member and coach of Wallingford Youth Lacrosse, an organization that David helped found and nurture into a program
that now serves children from kindergarten through high school.
