Why Wallingford?
There are solid reasons why Wallingford
stands tall on the world economic
stage. We “Check all the boxes” that
companies are looking for when they
are seeking a U.S. location:
A strong technology and
manufacturing base, access to a highly
skilled workforce, stable government,
low local taxes, central location and
relative proximity to major ports, and
the lowest electric energy rates on
the eastern seaboard. Companies, like
Amphenol, Ulbrich Stainless Steel &
Special Metals, BYK, ORAFOL Americas,
and CIDRA Minerals Processing, to just
name a few, operate and expand their
businesses here in Wallingford to take
advantage of these qualities of our
economy and our vibrant community.
EDC Working for Wallingford
Your Economic Development
Commission recognizes the importance
of promoting the unique advantages of
our town and its role in global trade.
The impressive roster of companies
that call Wallingford home will provide
some of the momentum for attracting
even more. As we enter World Trade
Month, we have much to be proud of
in Wallingford and the role we play in
international commerce. Prospective
companies can see that others have
found Wallingford to be an ideal
location to be in. We will highlight this
as we participate in and promote our
great town during World Trade Month,
and beyond.
It is an exciting time for the Economic
Development Commission. As
introduced in our last column, we have
a new EDC team. Local business leaders
who have stepped up to volunteer
their time, energy, and ideas in service
to our community for the betterment
of our town’s success and economic
strength. Economic success impacts
every resident and taxpayer in our
town in many ways: lower taxes, better
schools, improved infrastructure and a
vibrant and optimistic Wallingford.
