Mary Bush

      PORTRAIT DESIGN PHOTOGRAPHY

The joy of capturing memories and creating
art has been a 40 year career for photographic
artist Mary Bush, who loves calling Wallingford
home. Her work takes her across New England
and sometimes the country, as she delights in
the variety of subjects with which she works.
One day she may be photographing Ulbrich's
100th Gala, the next a business portrait, a
new baby, or a golden retriever at Tyler Mill.
It's always an adventure, as she photographs
many big events for the Quinnipiac Chamber
of Commerce. She is a 2x winner for the Re-
cord Journal Reader's choice, holds numerous
national and international awards for her work,
yet what matters most to her is creating some-
thing special with her next subject. You've
seen her work her in Wallingford Magazine for
9 years, she has been highlighting two of her
passions, fine art portraits of women and chil-
     dren.

“I love working with everyone, but I confess
that I totally adore young children. Their in-
nocence is inspiring, and I find them adorable.
They change so quickly, so I find it important
to capture this precious age with a portrait that
captures more than just what the eye sees, and
speaks to a mother's heart. Mary's Fine Art
Fairy Portraits are so fun and exciting for little
girls! It's not just about dressing up in costume
and posing for a photo. It is a story telling,
magical experience! My other passion is work-
ing with and empowering women. My project,
Capturing the Feminine Soul, is about creating
artistic images that celebrate the beauty of the
woman, not making it just about the makeover,
but about the beauty behind the make-up. I
have often met women that think it's the make-
up that makes them beautiful. I want to help all
women, any age, any size, to look through my
eyes, and capture the truth of their own beauty
in a way that only a portrait artist can.”
Everyone has a camera today, but not every-
one is a trained, experienced portrait artist.
Mary continues to keep herself busy, and al-
ways strives to be unique, by taking her work
to the next level, creating paintings of the por-
traits. Check out her Fine Art Fairy Portraits
