Wallingford Magazine
Nine years after becoming editor of Wallingford Magazine I am proud to announce
that I have purchased it with my partner, Susan Larson, our highly talented graphic
designer. Many folks have said they thought I already owned it and I appreciate that
impression. I have loved having the privilege of “Bringing Wallingford to Wallingford” –
my motto for all these years. I have lived in Wallingford most of my life and have had so
many wonderful experiences. I love this town and feel blessed to have the honor to bring
the stories of our town to our town in such a high quality publication. We are honored
to have so many wonderful and dedicated advertisers, businesses, professionals, and
non-profit organizations who support the magazine. The advertisers are the ones who
make it possible for us to print and deliver to more than 15,000 households in town six
times a year. We are also incredibly fortunate to have some highly talented hometown
writers who bring so many thoughtful, well-written stories to our readers. Wallingford is such a delightful town in
which to live, work and relax. Our downtown has so much to offer, from great restaurants to quality retailers to
professional offices. Wallingford was also recently rated as one of the safest towns in the state and even across
the United States when compared to other towns of similar size. Wallingford – love it! Enjoy our first issue of
Wallingford Magazine!

ON THE COVER
This wonderful photograph of a Wallingford flock of geese was taken by Mary Bush, a professional photographer
who lives in Wallingford and captures beautiful images of adults, children, and Mother Nature. She often posts photos
of these special creatures on Facebook which is where I found this photo and thought it was so very special. I asked my
wife, Lynne, to look at the photo and write up something about it. Here it is:
“In nature, there can be found so many diverse, beautiful communities.
This flock of geese is testimony to the resilience, the peace, and the beauty of wildlife in the heart of winter.”
