currently planning the upcoming sea-
sonal assignments for the Trails Work
Group. Included will be several re-
routes in Tyler Mill to improve poor
sections on eroded trails. A new Bog
Bridge and Kiosk are planned for Fer-
guson Woods. Some new trail blazing
patterns, as well as several new Kiosks
are being added in Tyler Mill to help
visitors navigate the beautiful trail sys-
tem there. Also, a revision to the entry
point on Woodhouse Avenue has been
proposed. Maybe even finally a bridge,
where the Pink trail comes to a sudden
end at the Muddy River. And in addi-
       tion to performing continued regular
       maintenance, much, much more!

The volunteers of the Trails Work
Group have completed so much in
a relatively short time span. We are a
group of passionate hikers, mt bikers
       and everyday recreational trail users,
who gladly volunteer our time and ex-
pertise, free of charge. We have saved
the town of Wallingford many thou-
sands of dollars in just this past year
alone. We maintain and improve our
       public recreational properties with a
smile and a handshake, and the satis-
faction of a job well done.

These days I am the volunteer fortu-
nate enough to be out working on a
trail, greeting an approaching group of
users who may perhaps be wondering
“Who does all this great work”? I
get to introduce myself as a member
of the Wallingford Trails Work Group,
and I get to ask the questions: What
trails do you prefer, and why? What do
you especially like about Tyler Mill?
What changes would you like to see?
Have you ever been over to Ferguson
Woods? And finally, my favorite ques-
tion, would you like to join us as a fel-
       low volunteer?

You too can become a member of the
            Wallingford Trails Work Group!
